When I saw the Wii fit at E3 last year it was cool, but I would have never thought it would be as popular as it was in Japan. Now in the UK the Wii fit game is doing amazingly well; after selling in excess of 1.4 million units to date in Japan.
In the UK Play.com told Pocket-lint that it sold out of its entire pre-order allotment in one day. Play.com said it was overwhelmed by the demand for the game. DSG group told Pocket-lint that it sold a copy of Wii Fit every 4 seconds on launch day and some stores sold out entirely.
Amazon.co.uk also said that the Wii Fit game was wildly popular and its stock sold out in only 24 hours. Exact number sold weren’t offered but a spokesman said the demand was unprecedented for a fitness product.
