As the potential announcement day of the 3G iPhone is almost here, the rumors about the new iPhone are going into over drive.
Engadget claims that a new iPhone firmware that has been only released to carrier partners for field tests is basis for some new specification aspects of the 3G iPhone.
The 3G iPhone would actually support Tri-band UMTS making it usable on all 3G networks world-wide.
It would be Apple's style to have one device for all markets.
The GPS capability is also confirmed again in this rumor.
