VendorRate has ranked the top IT vendors according to the IT pros at Microsoft Tech-Ed 2008. The rankings listed HP’s desktop and notebook division, Dell storage and networking and VMware as the highest in customer service.

The maximum possible score in the rankings was 100, HP scored 87.3, the highest rating. Dell scored 84.5 and VMware scored 83.8. According to the ranking other vendors that were good with customer service included CDW, Dell Server, Microsoft Server/Infrastructure and Network Appliance.

"IT professionals are as likely to give vendors high marks for good performance as they are to poorly score vendors who need to address customer satisfaction problems," said Rick Schaefer, CEO of VendorRate. "Our objective rating platform gives IT pros a neutral starting point that results in more accurate and relevant vendor scoring information."
