Many see texting as something that kids use mostly, but Verizon says that texting is a good way for adults and businesses to communicate when only short bits of information are needed to be exchanged. Texting also has the benefit of leaving a record for people to reference later. According to Verizon about 20 billion text messages are sent across its network nationwide each month.
"Text messaging is no longer just a secret language for your kids," said Pam Tope, Florida region president of Verizon Wireless. "Texting is being used by the whole family, business people and organizations in large, growing numbers because it is such a quick, efficient way to communicate a short message."
