Sylvania will launch an Atom based netbook dubbed Sylvania g MESO in August.
The Sylvania g MESO features an 8.9 inch screen, 512MB/1GB RAM and 80GB HDD. It is running UBUNTU Linux or Windows XP. The price is supposed to start at $399.
A 10 inch Sylvania g MAGNI is supposed to following in September.
Sylvania is actually an old brand that a company called Digital Gadgets bought and is now using to market netbooks.
They already OEMed the Cloudbook and also the new MESO is OEMed from Amtek (Elego).
Laptop Magazine has published an interview with Paul Goldenberg who founded Digital Gadgets in 2007. The interview has details about the upcoming Sylvania netbooks the company's web site does not have yet.
The more competitors enter the netbook market the more pressure Asus will get to lower their pricing on their Asus line.
