Nikon announces the new flagship model in the Nikon COOLPIX lineup with the P6000.
New features of the P6000 are inspired by Nikon digital SLR cameras enabled by a new 13.5 megapixel image sensor and a 4x Zoom-NIKKOR lens with ED lens.
Other features of the Coolpix P6000 include GPS, Wi-fi, RAW image mode, up to ISO 6400 sensitivity, Face-priority AF, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, D-Lighting, 15 scene modes, SDHC card compatibility, Distortion control corrects for barrel distortion, Macro shooting from as close as 2 cm, manual focus, New tab-format menu interface adapted from Nikon D-SLR cameras, 1:1 size (square) format with a choice of three black border options, and 48 MB of internal memory.
The measurements of the P6000 are 107 x 65.5 x 42 mm and the weight is 420g.
There is no pricing and shipping information available yet for the Coolpix P6000. It is expected that the P6000 sells for around $500 and starts shipping in September.
