AMD today announced that the AMD Imageon M180 media processor is powering the DVD-quality video and high-definition audio features in the new LG KC550 mobile phone.
The LG KC550 phone features such multimedia functions as a 5 Mpixel camera with an advanced image stabilizer, MP3 music player, high-resolution video recorder and DVD-quality video player, all of which are driven by the processing power of the AMD Imageon M180 media processor. To further enhance the user experience, AMD technology enables autorotation of images on the 2.4 inch display of this new lightweight GSM phone, allowing users to easily switch between portrait and landscape views.
LG introduced the 5MP KC550 in Europe in June already.
Nice win for AMD to power a mobile device. More details on AMD.
