Microsoft's Mike Nash introduced the world to Windows 7. Previously Windows 7 was thought to be a codename for the Vista successor and Microsoft would come up with a flashy marketing name for it, like they did for Vista.
In a move to underline the simplicity of the next Windows operating System, Microsoft sticks to the Windows 7 moniker.
At the PDC 2008 conference at the end of October, Microsoft will give a first look into Windows 7 and distribute Pre-Beta builds of Windows 7 to attending developers.
I hope for Microsoft's sake that they really took a fresh approach to Windows 7 that makes us forget that there ever was a Vista.
