Despite the poor economy in America, consumer electronics sales are expected to grow significantly in the US this holiday season. Among the top items of holiday, wish lists are computers, phones, and digital cameras.

One of the most interesting digital cameras to hit the market recently is the Nikon Coolpix S60. The interesting feature of the camera is that the clean design is not cluttered by knobs or controls other than the power switch. All functions and controls of the camera are done via the large 3.5-inch touchscreen on the rear of the camera.

Using the touch screen users can make notes directly on the images taken and more. Autofocus and exposure control can be accomplished by touching the face or item you want to focus on. The camera features HDMI connectivity and can send slideshows out to a HDTV. Other features include smile Shutter, ISO 3200 capability, auto scene selector, and three image enhancement features. The camera features 10MP resolution and saves to SD cards.

For Whom:

The S60 is a great camera for anyone who wants good looks, good design, and lots of functionality in a small digital camera.

The Good:

  • High resolution
  • Touchscreen
  • Nice features

The Bad:

  • Only 5x zoom
