Wacom is one of the top makers of tablets for PC drawing and other uses. The firm introduced a new multi-touch solution at WinHEC 2008 that allows users to navigate and control a computer with multiple fingers.

The design is compact allowing it to scale to multiple sizes according to Wacom and the device boasts a speed of 100 fps, a pointing accuracy of within 0.5mm and a resolution of 200 ppi. Wacom says markets for the multi-touch technology include the PC industry.

"Our dedicated engineering team has worked tirelessly to develop a multi-touch solution that is easy to integrate, affordable and provides clear differentiation from other manufacturers," said Hidetoshi Kamoto, Executive Officer of Wacom Company Ltd’s Component Business Division. "Accuracy is a key focal point and our initial tests confirm a multi-touch system that is incredibly stable, even when installed on larger LCDs, or notebook personal computers operating in battery mode."
