Bioshock 2 begins about ten years after the events of the first BioShock, in the new Bioshock the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. The storyline leads you on an epic journey as the “Big Daddy” which is familiar from the original BioShock, but also very different in that you posses free will and has no memory of the last ten years. The game begs the question, are you the hunter or the hunted? A monster is snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city. It is a Big Sister, new denizens of Rapture who were once one of the forgotten little girls known as Little Sister, known to inhabit the city’s dank halls. They are no longer pawns used to harvest ADAM.
The Big Sister is no longer just something to be harvested or not, the Big Sister is the most powerful resident in Rapture. You play the Big Daddy and take control with the original prototype Big Daddy, and experience the power and raw strength of Rapture’s most feared denizens as you battle powerful new enemies. In BioShock 2 you now have the ability to use new plasmids such as “Aero Dash” allowing for bursts of speed over short distances, and “Geyser Trap” a stream of water used as a jump pad and electrical conductor, join the ample list of Plasmids from the original game.
Bioshock 2 contains many new game play mechanics such as the ability to wield plasmids and weapons at the same time. There are also flashback missions detailing how you became the Big Daddy and the ability to walk outside the airlocks of Rapture to discover new play areas. New locations in BioShock2 are Fontaine Futuristics, headquarters of Fontaines’s business empire and the Kashmir Restaurant. It also features enhanced multiplayer where you can experience points during game play to earn access to new weapons, plasmids and tonics that can be used to create hundreds of different combinations. The new Bioshock 2 is destined to be a fan favorite and is on pre-order so you can be one of the first to have the new game.
