Total game sales reached $32 billion USD, mainly thanks to the massive success of the Nintendo Wii. Combined DVD and Blu-ray sales were down by 6% according to the firm's calculations.
Sales for DVD and Blu-ray films were $29 billion USD, $3 billion behind video game sales. Game sales are predicted to account for 57% of packaged media sales in 2009. In 2007, games were 53% of packaged media sales.
