The processor operates inside a 2.3W thermal design power envelope and is intended to let netbooks and other small systems play full HD video. VIA says that the processor supports all operating systems including Windows 7.
All of the features of a Northbridge and Southbridge are integrated into the single VX855 measuring 27mm x 27mm, over 46% smaller than competing solutions according to VIA. Also featured is advanced HD audio with a 192kHz sampling rate and the ability to support up to two low power DDR2 memory modules.
