The Samsung Behold touchscreen phone got unveiled last November. The T-Mbbile exclusive Samsung Behold is the 2nd most selling phone right now on LetsTalk. The Samsung Eternity is currently holding the top spot. We take a closer look at the Behold to find out if the reason for it to be bestseller is the $100 you get back when you sign-up for a new T-Mobile contract for the Behold.
The feature highlights of the Behold are full multimedia functionality, high-res 5.0MP camera and camcorder, TouchWiz UI, full HTML web browsing and assisted GPS.
The Samsung Behold features a full array of multimedia functionality with multi-codec video and audio support and video capture and playback.
The Samsung Behold has a large 3.0-inch LCD color touch screen, which displays crisp, clear images and offers responsive feedback. The Music Player features MP3, AMR(Voice Tag), AAC, AAC+, eAAC+.
It can store both Polyphonic and MP3 ringtones and also store
up to 72 Polyphonic ringtones.
The built-in camera and camcorder lets you take professional-quality photos with its 5.0 megapixel camera with flash and autofocus. Plus, the microSD memory card slot allows for easy storage of picture files.
Samsung Behold is equipped with Samsung's unique TouchWiz user interface, which has specially designed widgets to customize and personalize the way you use your phone. The quick and simple "drag and drop" feature lets users have instant access to their favorite functions, such as the clock, music player, instant messaging — as well as more personal elements, including photos and birthday reminders.
You can blog, text and chat with the virtual QWERTY touchpad. For easy operation and navigation, the stylish Samsung Behold features three dedicated keys on the front of the device under the touch screen — call, end call and back.
The assisted GPS navigation functionality features turn-by-turn directions and optional voice-activated search.
The Samsung Behold is a slim, sleek, stylish touch screen device measuring 104.9 x 53.5 x 12.7mm (HxWxD) and weighing around 4.0oz. The battery life provides up to 5 hours of talk time and can keep the phone in the standby mode for 300 hours.
It features a 180MB user memory storage and up to 2000 phone book entries can be stored. The Samsung Behold also features a built-in microSD memory card slot with up to 16GB.
Other miscellaneous features of Samsung Behold include stereo Bluetooth wireless technology, document viewer, file explorer, voice memo and voice mail features for corporate users, predictive Text Input T9 (handwritten recognition feature), Email, Instant Messaging, Outlook Sync and PC Sync Application and personal information management features such as Calendar and Worldtime.
We find the handwriting-recognition feature quite nice on the Behold that lets you jot down numbers, letters, symbols, and punctuation, which are then converted to typed text.
In our opinion the major drawbacks of Samsung Behold are that it lacks Wi-Fi.
