Microsoft has confirmed to Ars Technica that the next Office release Office 2010 is coming in 32-bit and finally in 64-bit versions.
64-bit OS is the future but App support has been a bit thin so far.
To get the Office Suit in 64-bit is a big step forward. Still the benefits of 64-bit in Office are most likely only going to be experienced by Office power users and not the average users.
I am still using Office 2003 on XP. With the Windows 7 release I might finally upgrade to Office 2010 unless Microsoft charges an arm and a leg for the Office 2010 upgrade. There is always Open Office...
