A French satellite provider has announced that it will be launching a satellite internet access plan called Tooway that will cover the entire UK at speeds up to 3Mbps via an existing satellite.
The service is aimed at rural areas where service by ADSL and cable are scant. A new satellite will be offering the service via Ka band and will launch in 2010. The satellite will cover the continent from Turkey to Ireland.
The catch is that the plan won’t be cheap, the equipment needed will be about £400 and the monthly subscription service will cost £29.99.
