Today we are looking at an app for the iPhone and iPod touch called Lose It. The application is a free calorie counter that offers a database of foods and their caloric values along with a database of exercises and how many calories they burn.

The application is perfect for those exercising and watching what they eat. The app keeps a running total of how many calories you consume each day and takes them from a pool of calories you are allowed for your age, height, and weight.

Review excerpt: "Summer is here and if you are looking to get in shape in preparation for spending the summer at the lake or the beach, you may be looking to shed a few pounds. Losing weight can be tough and one of the most important things to keep in mind is that you not only need to exercise you need to watch what you eat as well. Counting calories is an easy way to keep track of what you take in versus what you burn over the day. You can't lose weight unless you burn more calories than you eat. Today I am going to look at an app for the iPhone called Lose It. The application makes tracking your calories and weight loss goals a snap on the iPhone. Read on for all the details."
