Over the last couple of months we referred to the new iPhone that Apple unveiled yesterday as New iPhone 2009 in our ongoing rumor coverage. Users still google the new iPhone 2009. It is here and it is called iPhone 3G S.
Looking back, several of the rumors about the new iPhone actually turned out to be very true. HSDPA, 32GB, faster CPU, better camera, and digital compass are amongst the rumors that became reality.
On the other hand video conferencing with a front facing camera, OLED screen, HD support, matte backside, 4GB model and all black design turned out to be total fiction. Also the names iPhone Video and iPhone Pro did not make it.
The new iPhone 3G S starts shipping on June 19th and can be pre-ordered already on the Apple Store.
