Standard DVDs are upscaled to 1080p via a HDMI out connection. The device also supports simultaneous JPEG and MP3 music playback from discs or a USB drive. Supported Blu-ray features include BD-Live and BonusView and the player can play content from BD-R/RE discs.
Supported audio formats include LPCM, MP3, Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and WMA. An RJ-45 port is built-in for Internet access and IR in/out jacks are features for system integration. Optical and coaxial digital audio outputs are features and the HDMI out is 1.3a. The BDP 1 will be available in June for $499.
