According to police the item most typically used in fatal stabbings inside the home are kitchen knives. The first anti-stab knife will go on sale in Britain soon, it has been designed to work as a normal kitchen knife with a special tip.

The tip has a rounded blunt portion and an undercut that protrudes past the sharp tip of the knife. The blunt portion prevents the knife from stabbing someone.

The tip also reportedly snags on clothes making it difficult to inflict wounds on someone. The new knives will help prevent stabbing deaths according to some and doctors have been calling for redesigned knives for a long time to prevent stabbings.
