Samsung has introduced a new LCD desktop PC monitor called the VC240 that is designed with HD video conferencing in mind. The monitor puts all the components needed for video conferencing in one package.

The monitor has a 24-inch screen and can operate as a standalone video conferencing solution or as a PC LCD. The device uses V2oIP and is fully compatible with other VoIP systems and SIP based multipoint control units.

The Samsung VC240 will be available this fall for a MSRP of $1,999 through Samsung resellers. That hardly seems like a cheap system to me when you can get a $60 Logitech webcam and use the new Vid software that is free I talked about earlier.
