We know a little more about Microsoft's upcoming Project Natal system today. It's just been announced that Aptina has won the contract to supply 1.3 MP CMOS image sensors for the next version of the Xbox. The wording of the article makes it sound like this new 360 will come with a Project Natal built into it.
The new Xbox is set to ship in the latter half of 2010, which means we're looking at a Q3 or 4 release of the Natal. That's pretty much exactly what we've been expecting, but the news that we could see an Xbox with an integral Natal is very interesting. It's not stated whether or not Aptina will supply sensors for all Project Natal systems, or just the ones built into the Xbox.
