As some of you may already know, I've been the happy owner of an HP Mini netbook for the last several months. I love my mini to death, and I probably write a good 10,000 or so words a week on it. Since I purchased it, I haven't really spent much time thinking about a replacement. That may all change with this exciting news from Digitimes.
Quanta Computer is set to begin ODM production of a brand new line of 11.6” HP netbooks, due out as early as August. I don't have to tell any of you how exciting the idea of a quality netbook of that size is. They're also working on a brand new 10.1" HP netbook due out at the end of 2009. Inventec is also re-thinking the 10.1" HP netbook, and plan to have their version of it out before the end of September.
It's not all netbooks for HP in '09, though. Quanta is also expected to come out with a new line of HP notebooks. They'll be shipping out 15.6” and 17.3" notebooks in August. Also in August, Compal Electronics will ship out 13.3” and 14” notebooks. It's going to be a fantastic Fall for HP netbooks and netbook buyers alike.
