The rumored Nikon COOLPIX S1000pj is the world's first compact digital camera with built-in projector and is now officially announced and available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
With a simple touch of a button, the Nikon S1000pj camera projects favorite photos or movies clips on any flat surface at up to 40 inches in size. Pictures can be projected individually, or as slide shows complete with music and added effects that enhance the experience.
This is a great idea and has a bit of flavor of what a Chinese OEM gadget maker would actually come up with.
Nikon bundles a projector stand and a remote control that can be used to operate the projector, release the shutter, and more.
Other features of the Nikon S1000pj include 12.1MP resolution, 5x optical zoom, 2.7 inch screen, up to ISO 6400 sensitivity, D-Lighting, 16 scene modes, and SD/SDHC card slot.
Measurements of the S1000pj are 99.5 x 62.5 x 23 mm and the weight is 155g. The COOLPIX S1000pj will be available in Black or Warm Silver. The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj is already available for pre-order on Amazon.com for $429.95.
