Nokia and Microsoft will announce an alliance today in a teleconference at 11am EDT.
Stephen Elop, president of Microsoft Business Division, and Kai Oistamo, executive vice president for Nokia Devices will announce the alliance. The New York Times reports that the deal is about getting Microsoft Office applications onto Nokia phones.
Nokia is getting closer and closer to the Windows world. Back in June Nokia and Intel announced a partnership.
If I want Office on a smartphone I'll get myself a WinMo device not a Symbian one. I am not sure if this deal will help Nokia much in their struggle to establish a stronghold against Apple, RIM and Microsoft in the smartphone area.
