The Sony press conference at the Gamescom 2009 is underway right now. PS3 Firmware 3.0 has already been confirmed as well as major Playstation Home improvements.
A video download service is also coming later this year called Vidzone offering SD and HD movie downloads (rental and purchasing). Sony will also offer a cool digital comics service on the Playstation Network.Additionally Sony will sell PSN cards.
The Sony Gamescom 2009 event is still ongoing and the big news like the Sony PS3 Slim have not hit yet.
The official Sony Playstation Blog in Europe actually offers great live blogging of the event. I would have preferred live video broadcast like at E3 2009. Update: Sony PS3 Slim Official, ships in September for $299.
