We've got more good news from Sony's big press conference. The PlayStation manufacturer has just announced the launch of 'Minis', a series of cheap, small games built around their PSP/PSP Go gaming platform. According to the PlayStation.blog liveblog of the event, these games are built to take advantage of the low development cost for the PSP.

15 new Minis will launch on the first of October, and Sony plans to have 50 titles in total come out by the end of 2009. These games will only be available on the PSN store and will come with a 100 MB size limit.

'Sparta', 'MiniGore', 'Tetris', and 'Fieldrunners', are just a few of the upcoming titles. Tower defence games are expected to be quite popular as well. No news yet on how expensive these Minis will be, but more solid info should hit before Oct 1st.
