The new firmware 3.0 for the Sony PS3 has been released and you can install it now. Sony announced firmware 3.0 at the Gamescom 2009 a couple of weeks back.
The Firmware 3.0 incorporates changes that improve navigation on your Sony PS3. You will notice some cosmetic changes to the design of the XMB and the enhanced look and feel of the XMB.
Additionally the firmware 3.0 contains What’s New, Status Indicator, Friends List, PlayStation Store Shortcuts, Personalization and improved Trophies.
Sony is replacing the Information Board with the new What’s New section, which allows you to enjoy interactive PlayStation news every time you start the PS3 system.
