Maxatec has announced its latest mobile computing device called the HH 8010. The device runs on Windows CE 5 and incorporates the recent Windows Mobile 6 enhancements. The device features standard WWAN connectivity through GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity and it has Bluetooth or Wi-Fi as well.

Other features include a barcode reader with an integrated HHP 2D imager. The kit features a neck lanyard, hand strap, and mini USB cable and headset. A kit is also included for using the device in a car. Standard colors include yellow or black with other colors available as options.

Andrea Percival, managing director of Maxatec said, "As the mobile solutions market continues to grow, the demand is increasing for Windows Mobile(R). We already provide products for a number of mobile computing applications in a variety of business areas, but to date we have been limited, as our offering has been based on Windows CE(R) 5.0. The addition of the Maxatec HH 8010 opens up a number of new areas to us and we can now satisfy the demand we are seeing from our customers. There is a plethora of mobile computing devices available on the market today, and we have therefore chosen the HH 8010 carefully so that we can compete with a product that is well specified and offers real value for money."
