Oh my, here's a scoop. You'll remember the HTC Dragon/Passion, the purported smartphone that's basically an HD2 with Android 2.0. Bloggers have been arguing and rumors have been flying for months about whether or not this highly anticipated device even exists. Today we finally have a scrap of solid evidence that it does. Boy Genius reports that a huge list of upcoming HTC smartphones has been discovered in a leaked Android 2.1 ROM.
This list has a few familiar faces, like the Hero. But it also packs a whole lot of sequels and odd ducks. Most interesting among them are the HeroCT, HeroC, Dragon, and Passion. We now have some confirmation that the Dragon and the Passion exist...although they do both appear to be different phones. Both or either device could end up being completely different from the rumors being bandied about, but we do know that the phones themselves exist.
We also know that the Hero has 2 planned sequels. T-Mobile has plans to turn the Hero into an Android phone brand, sort of like Verizon's Droid line. These two devices could be the first new extensions of that line. For your further speculation, here's the full list of leaked HTC names;
Bahamas, Bravo, DesireC, Dragon, Dream, Espresso, Halo, HeroCT, HeroC, Hero, Huangshan, Incredible, Legend, Liberty, Memphis, Paradise, PassionC, Passion, Sapphire and Supersonic.
