Samsung Intrepid Available October 11th

Sprint has just sent out a press release announcing the imminent arrival of the Samsung Intrepid smartphone on their network. The Intrepid will be available on October 11th, for $149.99 after a $100 mail in rebate and $50 off instant savings. These prices are, of course, based on buying the phone with a two year service agreement.

The Intrepid runs WinMo 6.5, with a customized UI that alters the "Today" screen to be more useful to the user on the go. This new Samsung phone features a 2.5" touchscreen, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2 megapixel camera/camcorder, stereo Bluetooth, a 32 GB microSD slot, WiFi, and a pre-installed SIM card.

On the whole, the Intrepid fits solidly in mid-level smartphone category. Nothing about this handset really shines as special, although the price is about $50 too high. Anyone thinking of picking this new slider up when it launches next week?
