The service appears to be more of an online aggregator for getting you new episodes of your favorite shows when the network puts the new episodes online. The service will also send you messages to let you know that new episodes are available.
I can see this being a big help if you have an HTPC connected to your big screen or if you like to watch TV on your computer. I can’t bring myself to watch on my computer when I have a much larger screen in the living room. This would be a heck of a feature to build into a standard DVR though.
