Asustek added a new CULV, the UL30Vt, to its line-up (via Electronista). This new notebook sports a sweet brushed aluminium look and brags 12 hours of in-use battery life.
With that kind of longevity, you'd expect this CULV to pack some bare-bones hardware. And you'd be wrong. Instead, it features either a healthy Core 2 Duo 1.4 GHz processor or a Celeron 1.2 GHz processor, from 2-4 GB of RAM, and up to 500 GB of storage space. What really makes this CULV special though, is the graphics card.
The UL30Vt packs both an embedded Intel GMA X4500 MHD chipset, AND an Nvidia GeForce G 210M with 512 MB of VRAM. When you want to watch something in HD or 3D or play a computer game, you switch on the GeForce card. If you're just browsing or writing or want to conserve battery power, the chipset takes over.
We've heard no details on pricing or availability for this sweet little CULV, but Electronista believes it's likely to hit around $800. If Asus can continue to put out awesome notebooks like this, they might just achieve their dream of becoming one of the world's top three notebook vendors.
