Audio Technica is one of the most prolific maker of USB turntables, allowing users to enjoy music from their vinyl records as digital music files. The company has announced its latest USB turntable called the AT-LP2D-USB turntable that is designed to turn LPs into digital recordings via a USB connection to a computer.
The turntable sells for $229 and includes a turntable, phonon cartridge, as well as software. The software is compatible with both Mac and PCs. The turntable is fully automatic and can play both 33-1/3 and 45 rpm vinyl records.

The turntable is designed for hi-fi sound and has a balanced aluminum platter. The stylus of the Dual Magnet stereo cartridge is replaceable and the tone arm has a damping control. The Mac software is Audacity and the PC software is Cakewalk Pyro.
