It looks like those iTablet rumors aren't going to stop any time soon. The rumor mill is as active as it's been in months, and the analysts can't say enough about Apple's theoretical tablet. Such repetition gets to be annoying, but if it leads to gadgets like the Eee Pad from Asus I'm totally fine with it.
Digitimes has heard from "industry sources" that Asustek is currently preparing to launch a tablet computer/MID device that features a 4"-7" panel. At that size, the Eee Pad will be much smaller than the rumored iTablet, which is probably a good thing. A 7" panel is large enough to read, surf, and watch movies on in relative comfort. It's also small enough to be cheap and portable. This Eee Pad is said to have been inspired by the iTablet rumors, so there's been at least one positive result to all of our speculative jabbering. There are no details out about the specs to this device, but I can see it going one of two ways. Either Asus is going to lump an Atom processor in there and make this thing into a mini-netbook, or they'll grab a Qualcomm or VIA processor (maybe a Snapdragon!) and turn this thing into an MID. Either way, I can't wait to get my hands on one.
