Another iRiver PMP has just launched. The iRiver Smart HD is a touchscreen media player with a 3.5" monitor, 8 GB and 16 GB size options, and the ability to take microSDHC cards. The basic model of the Smart HD costs $203, but for $248 you can get an over-air TV Tuner and for WiFi/16 GB you'll pay $310. Another 16 GB version pre-loaded with "Educational content" will cost $265.
Electronista reports that, while the Smart HD is currently limited to Korea, that won't be the state of things for long. iRiver regularly sells their PMPs over here, and the Smart HD has an especially good claim-to-fame. It can support both HD video and MKV files, which is really useful for the unscrupulous legions of torrenters out there. You know who you are.
The Smart HD can handle 18 hours of audio or 6 hours of video on a full charge. If you speak Korean, you can visit the product page here.
