Nexus One: January 5th Launch?

The dam has broken, and the Internet is now fully flooded with rumors about the new Nexus One smartphone. To recap, the Nexus One is the Google Phone, and also the HTC Passion. It's got a big AMOLED screen, tri-band GSM and FCC Approval. Basically everyone who uses the Internet wants one of these gadgets and, if ABC News (via Android and Me) is correct, it'll be out January 5. Google will offer the new smartphone directly from their website. There's been no word yet as to whether or not this will be a global release, or just US. We also lack any information on the unsubsidized cost of this device. Earlier rumors state that it will be subsidized by Google and cost consumers just $199. I certainly hope that's the case, but there is so far no backing for that rumor.
