LG has (roughly) ten Android smartphone releases planned for this year. AndroidSpin reports that the first one will be the LG InTouch Max. This Android device will hit Virgin Mobile and T-Mobile UK first, but may be coming to the U.S. later. The InTouch Max is also known as the LG GW620.
In terms of specs, the Max doesn't have much to get excited about. It will launch with Android 1.5, a 3" touchscreen, sliding QWERTY keyboard, and a 5 MP camera with flash and a 4x zoom. The InTouch Max isn't a very impressive smartphone, but it will be completely free with a contract. LG's decided to start this year off with a budget smartphone, and there's not a damn thing wrong with that.
The iPhone and the Nexus One and the Droid and the HD2 all get discussed constantly because they're sexy, high-end gadgets with a ton of possibility. It's easy to forget that they all also cost more than what the average consumer is willing to spend. Phones like the InTouch Max give everyone an affordable, solid option for a 3G smartphone.
