Hot on the heels of the iPad's surprise $499 price tag comes MSI's new entrant to the tablet category. Digitimes reports that Micro-Star International intends to bring a Tegra-based tablet PC to market in the second half of this year. This product will be priced at $500, which puts it right within broadside range of the iPad.
This MSI tablet will have a 10" color touchscreen with wireless support and will be "lightweight and thin". No exact stats on that were given, but from the photo we have of the gadget it looks to be roughly the same size as the iPad. In fact, if you were to remove the labels and set them both about ten feet away from the average lay-user, I doubt he'd be able to tell which was which.
MSI claims that their tablet will have "all the functions" of a full sized notebook. To me, that sounds like code for "this baby can multitask. Suck it, Jobs." MSI was clear that there will be multiple variants of this tablet launched, designed to cater to market demand.
