Fraunhofer to Demo CD-quality Mobile Phone Calls at MWC

Mobile World Congress in Spain is coming up soon and at the show, we will see all sorts of new mobile phone related gear break cover. One of the things that will be shown off at the show will be the new Fraunhofer Audio Communication Engine.

The tech will allow for CD-quality calls to be placed over a 4G cellular network via a mobile phone. The tech promises to make calls as clear as talking to a person in the same room. The system is designed to work on LTE networks.

The audio engine will also allow music and other sounds to be played back in their original quality as well, which could mean clearer music. The tech is expected to be integrated into future 4G handsets and has noise reduction tech that removes echoes and more.
