Like most gamers, I get a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomache when I hear that one of my favorite titles is about to be made into a movie. Ever since the terrible betrayal of the Street Fighter movie (I was 8 at the time) I've been unable to look forward to any video game movie. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is no exception to this rule.
The special effects looked great, at least on my 22" monitor. So I'll give the director that. None of the acting I got to see during the trailer (which was mostly action) set my hair on edge. But that doesn't prove anything. This film still looks a little too reminiscent of "The Scorpion King" for me to get over my background unease.
