If you were an original G1 customer, you're probably feeling a bit shafted by your early adoption of Android. Thankfully, T-Mobile remembers and appreciates your loyalty. TmoNews reports that their favorite carrier is about to give G1 users access to a special beta update. Voice Plus Data will be available next week.
This beta has several awesome features. Call Divert allows you to select certain numbers to always ring directly to voice mail. Call Defer allows you to pre-program text messages that inform your callers that you are busy, but plan to respond later. Visual voicemail is also coming along with this update, as is city and state ID for all incoming calls.
In order to guarantee your entrance to this beta, send an email to voiceplusbeta@t-mobile.com. You'll want the subject line to be “Voice Plus Beta” and you'll need to send your IMEI number, phone number, and area code in the body.
