Pentax has announced a pair of new point and shoot cameras including the Optio W90 and the x90 megazoom. The W90 camera is waterproof to 20 feet and shockproof to four feet. The cam is also made to survive freezing winter temperatures for action shots. The lens has a microscope mode and can focus on items as close as 1cm from the lens. The rear LCD is 2.7-inches and the cam can record 720p video as well.
The X90 has a massive 26x zoom lens and a resolution of 12.1MP. The rear LCD is 2.7-inches and the camera features triple shake reduction. The device can shoot high-speed bursts at up to 11 frames per second continuously. The 26x lens is a 26 to 676mm equivalent and has a macro mode too.
Both of the cams have Eye-Fi connectivity and HDMI out for sending video and pictures direct to the TV. The X90 will ship in April for $399.95. The W90 will also ship in April for $329.95. Pentax will ship a waterproof wireless remote for all Optio models in April for $29.95.
