ISPs in the US are claiming that they will have a hard time hitting broadband speeds of 100Mbps in the next decade. In the UK, Virgin is set to offer 100Mbps speeds to all 3.8million customers by the middle of 2011.

The company says that the 100Mbps speeds will be 24 times faster than the average broadband connection in the UK today. The company says that tech savvy users who like games and music will love the connection.
The fast speeds will be powered by a fiber optic network and the speed will allow downloading of a full one-hour TV show in about 30 seconds and a full HD film in less than 8 minutes. That is certainly fast, but I wonder how much it will cost. Virgin is mum on pricing.
