Yesterday Sony PS3 owners could not log into PSN anymore and also experienced offline gaming issues.
The new generation of slim Sony PS3 consoles (120GB and 250GB) are not affected, which makes the problem quite mysterious.
There is still no fix available. The official Sony Playstation Blog acknowledged the issue and refers to their Twitter account for the latest updates. The Sony PS3 support page indicates that there is no issue with PSN. I would expect a bit more urgency and information from Sony about this situation. Examiner reports that a fix is supposed to be available this morning.
