More SSD manufacturers cannot be a bad thing. GearLog reports that Plextor has just launched their first entrant to the SSD market. They have announced both the PX-64M1S and PX-128M1S. As you've probably guessed, those drives hold 64GB and 128 GB, respectively.

These 2.5” SATA II drives come with Acronis True Image backup software. The 64M1S promises up to 110 MB/s sequential read, and up to 65 MB/s sequential write. It is billed as being able to handle 4,200 input/output operations per second. The 128M1S can read up to 120 MB/s, and write 70 MB/s. It has an IOPS of 4,300.
The 64 GB drive will set you back $225, while the 128 GB drive will cost an even $400. Any interest in Plextor's first SSD offerings?
