Target has announced a new way to put your smartphone to use to save you money in its retail stores. Target has announced the first-ever scannable coupon program for mobile phones. The program will send coupons to your mobile device that can be scanned at checkout.

It's pretty cool and each of the coupons is single use and expire on the day shown on the coupon. You have to opt into the program on Target.com/mobile to get the coupons.
