Western Digital has been in the storage market for a very long time and offers HDDS for internal and external use in both consumer systems and enterprise machines. The latest new product to come from WD is the new My Passport AV portable media drive line. The new line is designed specifically for storing digital content like photos and movies.

The drive has a 320GB capacity and is designed to connect directly to USB port wielding devices like TVs, DVRs, Blu-ray players and other devices. The hardware of the drive is optimized for streaming content.

WD says that the drive is compatible with the Sony Handycam camcorder Direct Copy feature and can connect directly to Sony Blu-ray players for playback. The new drives have a 2-year warrant and the 320GB version is $109.99.
