The service is offered via a relationship with Charge Anywhere LLC and Verizon Wireless. The program has an important stipulation; you can only charge items up to $25. Any business can get the Charge anywhere technology to process credit cards and mobile charges.
This would mean a store using the Charge Anywhere tech would allow a shopper to come in and pay for items directly with their mobile phones. I really don’t see this taking off in retail locations, but online this might be an interesting form or payment. The client side software can be downloaded over the air to the user's mobile phone.
