Secondary “sub-displays” are incredibly useful for the working computer nerd on-the-go. They allow you to reap the benefits of a dual-monitor set-up without actually hauling a desktop around whenever you travel. Normally, these sub-displays connect via USB, which makes them slower and unsuitable for anything but a browser/IM window/word document.
The Hanwha HM-TL7T (via Akihabara News) is different. It packs both HDMI and VGA connectors, which means it is basically a regular (albeit 7”) display. This monitor runs an 800x480 WVGA resolution and comes with a swivel mount.
No info on price or availability outside of Japan has been released yet.
